Why do we have closed fishing seasons?
A:
Closed seasons prevent people from fishing at certain times of the year to protect species at vulnerable times in their life cycle, such as during spawning seasons.
Q:
When is the Barramundi closed season?
A:
Throughout the Queensland east coast, a closed season applies to barramundi from midday 1 November to midday 1 February.
Q:
When is the coral reef fin fish closed season?
A:
From 24 October to 28 October 2011, and 22 November to 26 November 2011.
